Nap n Zap – Permanent Hair Removal provides professional Electrolysis Services for Men, Women and teens of all ages.  Electrolysis is a method of removing individual hairs from the face or body. Medical electrolysis devices destroy the growth center of the hair with  heat energy. A very fine probe is inserted into the hair follicle at the surface of the skin. A tap of current is applied and  then removed with tweezers.  Most areas of the body can be treated with electrolysis, including the eyebrows, face, neck, abdomen, bikini, thighs, breasts, and legs. There are generally no permanent side effects, but sometimes a temporary, slight reddening of the skin may occur.  Please see our FAQ for more information about Electrolysis Permanent Hair Removal.

If you are planning on undergoing permanent hair removal; no waxing or tweezing prior to electrolysis for at-least twenty four hours.  And while undergoing Electrolysis a person may scissors but absolutely no waxing or tweezing. If hair is tweezed or waxed it will undo the results of the electrolysis treatments.  Tweezing or waxing is pulling or ripping a hair out by the root which encourages another hair to regrow and grow stronger. You should also avoid sun exposure for twenty four hours before and after treatment. Sun exposure causes irritation to the treated area.

Electrolysis is actually a very intricate science.  In chemistry and manufacturing, electrolysis is a method of using an alternating current (AC) to drive an otherwise non-spontaneous chemical reaction. Electrolysis is commercially highly important as a stage in the separation of elements from naturally occurring sources such as ores using an electrolytic cell. The voltage that is needed for electrolysis to occur is called the decomposition potential. You can learn more about electrolysis by visiting the Wikipedia Page on Electrolysis.
